Privacy
This page explains how Bring That, Please currently handles information in the product.
Information you provide
When you create an account, Bring That uses your email to send a sign-in code. Your email is not shown publicly.
You also choose a display name and a username. Your display name can appear with public Requests and Trips. Your username is for your account and for Bring That operators. It is not published as a public profile.
You may post Requests (photo, item name, route), create Trips (route and optional arrival date), send Chat messages, share a contact value, write to Support, and submit reports.
What other people can see
Public:
- Active Request photos, item names, routes, and related public Request pages
- public Trip pages, including traveler display name, route, date, and trip state
- Brought Requests as historical public detail
- Removed Requests only as a minimal inactive page
Not public:
- your email
- saved contact methods you have not shared
- Chat
- Support
- reports
- blocks
- analytics internals
Messages and shared contact information
Chat text and Chat images are visible to the two people in that conversation.
If you share a contact, the other person in that conversation receives the value you shared at that moment.
Bring That operators do not have a general Chat browser. Limited conversation context may be used when a report is reviewed.
Support and safety information
Messages and images you send to Support are visible to you and to Bring That operators.
Reports, including optional details and who submitted them, are for operators. The person reported is not shown who reported them.
Blocks stop future marketplace messaging between two accounts. The other person is not notified of a block.
If an account is suspended, marketplace posting, trips, and messaging can be limited. Support remains available unless a stronger restriction applies.
Images
Request, Chat, and Support photos that the product currently accepts are processed into optimized web images. Location and camera metadata are not carried into those normalized WebP files. Original phone files are not kept as the permanent marketplace copy.
Public Request images are stored separately from private Chat and Support images.
Some phone photo formats are not processed yet. Temporary uploads can expire if a Request or message is not finished. Bring That does not currently run a guaranteed automatic cleanup schedule for every abandoned file.
Product analytics
Bring That records a small set of product-usage events, such as viewing Discover, opening a Request, sending a message, or submitting a report. These events use identifiers (for example a Request or Conversation id). They do not store message text, Support text, email, or shared contact values.
Analytics are for understanding how the marketplace is used. They are not advertising tracking, ad pixels, or device fingerprinting.
A short-lived analytics session id may be stored in your browser tab so anonymous browsing can be counted. It is not your account login.
Analytics and cookies
Bring That uses Google Analytics to understand general site usage and improve the service. Analytics is enabled by default for visitors who have not previously turned it off. You can change the setting at any time through Cookie settings in the footer. Turning analytics off does not affect your ability to use Bring That.
Google Analytics may use cookies such as _ga and _ga_*. Information that may be processed includes sanitized page categories or routes, general device and browser information, approximate location, and referral or usage information supplied through Google Analytics.
Bring That deliberately removes dynamic identifiers from the page paths it configures and does not send account email, username, item name, request ID, trip share slug, messages, or contact information through its custom analytics events. Analytics information is processed by Google and may be processed outside your country. See Google's privacy policy.
Emails
Bring That, through its authentication provider, emails you a sign-in code.
Bring That may also send transactional email when:
- you have unread Chat activity
- someone creates a Request through your shared Trip
- Support has replied and you have not read it
These emails exist to help you return to the relevant conversation or Request. Bring That does not send marketing email today.
Service providers
Bring That currently uses:
- Supabase for sign-in, database, and file storage
- Resend to send the transactional product emails above
- Google Gemini only when you post a Request: a processed copy of that Request image may be sent so the product can suggest an item name. You can edit or type the name yourself.
- Google Analytics for privacy-minimized traffic measurement, which is on by default unless you turn it off in Cookie settings
Production hosting details are not listed here yet.
How long information is kept
Bring That keeps account, Request, Trip, Chat, Support, report, and related records as part of operating the marketplace. There is no self-serve account-deletion or formal data-request flow in the product today, and this page does not promise deletion timelines.
Removed Requests stay as a minimal public record rather than disappearing from their original address.
Questions
There is no separate privacy email yet. If you have a question about this page, use Message Bring That in the account menu.
